General Mills Holds Celebration for 150th Year!
General Mills held its 150th celebration on Friday, May 20, 2016 with two events. The afternoon, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for guests, where General Mills introduced their new snack products for Nature Valley and Fiber One. A great turn out for this year long investment and project that has been in the works. Guests were able to tour the new facility and get a glimpse of the new cutting edge technology that the plant currently has. New product line will begin production on Monday. General Mills has invested $60 million dollars with this new snack line into Belvidere.
Earlier Friday morning, a breakfast was held for the community in celebration as well. General Mills presented a check for $20,000 to the Salvation Army, voted for by the organization, for having made an impact in our community. “This is another great day for Belvidere and the community”, said Executive Director of Growth Dimensions, Jarid Funderburg. “Congratulations and thank you for your investment on the new product line.”
