Equity in Board Representation

The Equity in Board Representation Program, presented in partnership with NICNE and Martesha Brown, MBA, returns for its second year with support from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.

Nonprofit boards are at their strongest when diversity and inclusion are prevalent goals. This five-week in-person program, which will culminate in a graduation ceremony and public networking celebration, builds leadership capacity and connects individuals to nonprofit organizations representing causes they are passionate about.

The series will equip members of underrepresented communities, with an emphasis on members of black and brown communities, with the skills and knowledge they need to serve on nonprofit boards. This program is intended for those who are newer to board service or who aspire to build personal leadership capacity to serve on nonprofit boards of directors.
