Success Stories

The Workforce Connection’s presence in Belvidere and Boone County goes back decades.   For nearly 30 years, TWC and its predecessor organizations, have provided workforce services and access to federally-funded programs to both jobseekers and employers in Boone County.   For many years, we were located in the County facility on Logan Avenue and are now open for business in the heart of downtown in the old bank building at 530 South State Street.  

In the last 18 months, The Workforce Connection program staff has assisted more than 700 individuals in our Belvidere office.  Our business team has been pleased each year to host our annual Career Fair and Hiring Event at the Community Building Complex, which has grown to become one of the largest job fairs in northern Illinois and we have welcomed the opportunity to work with our partners at Growth Dimensions to help area employers, including many of the auto industry suppliers, connect to the skilled workers and training opportunities they need to be successful.

The Workforce Connection Board is responsible for overseeing these programs in the three-county region and appreciates its long-standing partnership with business and community leaders in Boone County.
