Description
The Belonging Task Force kicked off a conversation around food insecurity and equity in September. The work has continued in the form of monthly facilitated deep-dive conversations around how to address food insecurity and systemic inequities in our food systems, pulling together those who are already working within these systems and those who are passionate about this issue in our community.
All are welcome to join the next facilitated conversation, led by Kim Adams Bakke, retired Executive Director of Rock River Valley Pantry, and Alberta Walker of Voices of Inspiration.
Discussion topics will include:
- Four major focus areas (transportation, food quality and nutrition education, promotion of available resources, and poverty)
- How to promote current available services
- Successful strategies from communities who have made a significant impact on food insecurity
- Focus areas in need of additional support
