The Rock Valley College and Rockford University Job & Internship Fair is an opportunity for employers to recruit job and internship seekers. Employers come to RVC and have an opportunity to meet current and former students, and members of the community.

The fair will take place on Wednesday, September 26th, from 1:00-4:00pm on the RVC Main Campus in the Physical Education Center (PEC).

The fee to host an Employer table is $75 and that includes food and beverages for your table representative(s) up to 2 individuals. We encourage you to bring your own table cloths as we have a limited supply. Please also include on the registration form if you need electrical access. The event will open for Employer registration on August 6, 2018. Employer registration is currently open and will close on September 19, 2018 at 5:00pm. Employer walk-ins are not permitted. 

Job Seekers

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged but NOT required. Please go to Pre-registration. Walk-ins are welcome and can register at the door for FREE!  We hope to see you at the fair! This event is free to students, alumni, and the community.

All candidates should dress professionally. Bringing a resume is strongly encouraged. We recommend bringing 20 copies to give to employers. If you need assistance creating or polishing your resume, we encourage you to sign up for one of the Resume Workshops

Business Casual Guidelines for Men

Ties are encouraged
Shirts: Long sleeve button down in solid colors are a good choice and allow for a tie if you choose to wear one. Polo shirts are also acceptable. Shirts should always be tucked in.
Pants: Should be neatly pressed. No jeans or denim. Khakis are a good option. A leather belt is also suggested.
Shoes: Should be leather and be generally in good condition. Dark socks are suggested. Do not wear flip flops or sandals.
Business Casual Guidelines For Women

Shirts: Tailored shirts and blouses, as well as knit sweaters and tops are appropriate choices. Do not wear skin-tight or very low-cut shirts. Fabrics with glitter or sparkles should be avoided. The midriff should be covered.
Pants/Skirts: Khakis, dress pants, and skirts are all appropriate options. No jeans or denim. Pants should be neatly pressed. Capris and cropped pants are not acceptable options. Skirts should be at least knee length. Generally, solid colors are good options for both pants and skirts. Neither pants nor skirts should be tight.
Shoes and Hose: Shoes should be leather or fabric. Wear a heel height appropriate for the clothes you are wearing and appropriate for the amount of walking you will be doing. The color should be dark. White and pastel shoes are not generally suggested. Hose are optional but suggested with knee-length skirts and more formal environments. Do not wear flip flops or sandals.
* When it comes to perfume/cologne, less or none is best.

Job seekers must wear appropriate interview attire. No jeans, sweatshirts/sweatpants, or flip flops will be permitted. This dress code will be strictly enforced.
