We are proactively in contact with local, state, and federal agencies and organizations to identify needs and provide the best possible resources and tools to help affected businesses, essential employers and employees during this global crisis.
We have also partnered with Forward Boone County, to bring you the most relevant information as we navigate through the state's 5-Phase reopening approach.

At Nicor Gas, safety is their number one value. Their primary concern continues to be the safety and well-being of their employees, customers and communities. As a business responsible for critical infrastructure, they are committed to sustaining their business operations during this challenging time. Nicor Gas put protective measures in place when it’s necessary for their employees to have direct contact with customers to protect from the potential spread of COVID-19. This guidance is based on the best practice recommendations from the CDC and OSHA and continues to evolve.
As always, their 24/7 Call Center at 1-888-642-6748 is available to customers to contact them if they have any questions or need to report a natural gas issue. They are continuing on as business as usual with the exception of some of their employees working remotely.

We're here to help our customers through financial hardship. We're suspending disconnects for customers unable to pay their bills and waiving new late payments charges through at least May 1st. Although The Workforce Connection sites are not open to the public, employees from our One-Stop Operator Partners, Goodwill and Rock Valley College, as well as board staff are temporarily working remotely until further notice. IDES staff remain on-site at this time but are not open to the public. Career planners are still available by phone and email as a service to individuals, as well as the business service team members for employers who are looking for additional resources and assistance.
The Workforce Connection’s hiring events and workshops have been postponed until further notice. The Workforce Connection website and social media outlets will provide updates, resources, and interesting ideas about what can be done online for career seekers and employers.
